The easiest client to land is the one you’ve already got. But do your existing clients know how else you can help them? Do they know about that practice area you’ve added or your newest area of expertise?

Too frequently, we assume people know what we do when they really only know a fraction. It’s like the story of the blind people describing an elephant. Each could only describe the part they experienced first-hand (literally!). As for the rest of it, they had no idea.

We’re the perfect example. Depending on how you came into our world, you might know that we offer free tips on practice management or that we teach courses on process improvement. You might know us as process improvement consultants or as business coaches…but that’s not all we do.

Your tip this week is to tell people what you do, especially if you’ve expanded your service offerings.

There are lots of ways you can do this. The most obvious is updating your website. Then consider including your new services in your client newsletter, speaking at a conference, or writing an article that showcases your growing expertise in a new area.

We’re taking our own advice.
