Make the Shift: The One Decision You Should Stop Postponing This Quarter

Mar 09, 2026

Last week in The Shift, we looked at how postponed decisions quietly accumulate into operational debt. If you missed it, you can read it here. Today, let’s apply that lens to your own practice.

There’s likely one decision you’ve been carrying for a while.

It isn’t urgent. It isn’t catastrophic. But it hasn’t gone away.

Set aside ten minutes and write down the answer to this question:

What decision have I been postponing that will cost me more if I continue to wait?

Be specific. Name it plainly.

Then write one sentence underneath it:

What is this costing me right now financially, operationally, or mentally?

Don’t create a plan. Don’t outline next steps. Just look at it directly.

Often, the hardest part isn’t making the decision. It’s admitting that you’ve been deferring it. Only then can you take the next step and actually make the decision.

If you’d like a place to think this through before you act, Ask Gimbal lets you test your reasoning in real time. We’re currently testing the beta version of our custom GPT designed to give you instant support on demand. It’s loaded with our expertise, voice, and frameworks to provide you with a coach in your pocket 24/7.
