Make the Shift: The Problem You've Solved Three Times

Aug 07, 2026

Is there a particular problem in your practice you've tried to fix more than once (maybe more than three times) and each time, the solution only lasted for a while?

Here's the reflection for this month: name that problem. The one that keeps resurfacing no matter how many times you've addressed it. Then ask yourself honestly whether the pattern is telling you that you haven't tried hard enough, or that you've been too close to it to see what's actually causing it.

You don't need to solve it today, and you don't need an answer yet. Just notice how many times you've tried to solve it on your own. If the same problem keeps returning, it may not need more effort, it may simply need a different perspective.

If it helps, say the problem out loud to someone this week, not to fix it on the spot, but just to see how it sounds outside your own head. Often you'll hear something you couldn't hear while it was just bouncing around inside your own head.

This isn't about doing more. It's about thinking differently about what matters most.
